Often there is not much choice. Selection of crop depends on geographical conditions of area. In some places, sugar cane is best. At others, potato may be good. In Kashmir, saffron or Kesar is most profitable. .
Pulses and oil wearing like mustered, groundnut, Soy, Cotton and medicinal plants are best example of cash crops. Sugarcane and fruits also come in the same category.
It will not be possible to talk about India in general as the climatic condition and other physical conditions are quite different in each regions. In Manipur, the cash crops grown includes mustard, sesame, ginger, chillies, pineapples etc
Genda and rose flowers are known to be biggest cash crops due to their demand during every occasion. Election and marriage time is one of the most demanding time. Farmers in our area keep a certain area for these flowers only.
Growing Coffee is very lucrative since we see most Coffee estate owners very prosperous and having an income in crores.They also grow cardamoms and pepper side by side which too brings in a lot of revenue since all of them are very expensive ..
Mentha and eucalyptus are two items good and very useful crops in our area.
I feel that cotton is best profitable cash crop of India earning good profits in international platform.
Cotton,wheat and rice is the best as we are self sufficient in these ans also we can export the excess.
The farmer and govt earn much profit by selling wheat and sugarcane.These crops are in great demand.
