Government and not courts decide policy - Supreme court

Many of us may get confuse with this.
I think this is good. Supreme court has a particular task which differs from the task of the Government.

Maintaining that policy decisions must be left to the government, as it alone can decide which policy should be adopted after considering all points from different angles, the Supreme Court said .

Courts punish. But this is not issue. The issue is that government makes policy and law. supreme court does not make law but can interpret the law. Parliament and government can decide policy and make law but they cannot interpret this. There is division of powers: Parliament makes law. Government implements law. Supreme court can interpret law and hear cases according to law.
