Khadi dresses
Many decades back people use to wear Khadi dresses and carry jute hand bags. Do you wear khadi dress and use jute hand bags in these days? Is it alive in fashion?

I have a khadi kurta. I feel very comfortable in it. Khadi is made in India.
Khadi is also movement aimed at boycotting foreign goods by Gandhiji.
It is not, It was before we gained freedom.Fortunately for those who love aesthetics, khadi has come a long way from merely being a drab, dull and coarse cloth!
You must visit Gandhi Ashrams and see the range of Khadi. You shall never believe your eyes looking at the price tags especially the varieties under silk khadi.
Yes Sunil, I have seen some very nice collection of beautiful khadi silk, there is a big khadi store in Pune where they bring in fresh stock with added variety each year in October, and the whole month sell them at good discounts! I have never been to a Gandhi ashram although, it must be quite good!

I think they have these sales every year during Gandhi jayanti for almost a month...They have really beautiful ethnic bed spreads and dress materials every year, also jute bags and other decorative items too, but as you say silks are the best, the raw silk materials and sarees that they have are really nice !

Yes Khadi is not a part of our culture though Gandhi when asked to boycott Videshi goods he asked people to wear Khadi clothes.

Yes you can get Salwar kurta for ladies in Khadi. There may be other dresses too go and check in Khadi Ashram. :)

At one time Khadi ruled the roost in fashion circles. Now khadi has gone int o oblivion
I have decide to buy khadi dress materials during this diwali discount sale. Let me do.
Friends you will feel strange but I don't wear Khadi. I mostly were silk. Sometimes I wear cotton. Doctor has suggested me to wear cotton clothes.
Why is that? Is there any particular reason why you cannot wear Khadi ? I would think that it has the same composition as cotton , but a little on the rough side since it is raw and not as fine as cotton and linen..
