Are adult sites legal?

I also think the same. Like we have different categories in movies U/UA/A, same goes for websites under 15 under 18 and adult. Then there are hard core adult sites known as XXX or porn. But these are not illegal for sure but right of admission is restricted/reserved.

But the sites in adult category are western. Even the normal sites have adult segment. I am not aware of Indian position. Are there any Indian adult sites permitted by law?

Don't think so much Porn sites are for adults only but every adult site may not be a porn site. :blink:

For me adult sites are the sites which contain sex, violence and material not suitable for undeveloped minds like stunts etc. Adult sites are not necessarily porn sites.

Actually there are many sites, mainly western that are porn as well as adult and are legal sites. There is a marked difference between these two sites but I think they are necessary from point of view of some people who enjoy such sites but that does not make them bad or immoral. That is the necessity of entertaining themselves just like others do with their favorite activities. There is no point nor is it essential to ban such sites. Only necessity is to make them inaccessible for viewers below 18 years.

Banning is not a solution, to prevent children from watching such sites, there should be parental control. There are a number of good softwares containing firewall programmes that prevent children from accessing such sites. Every household with teenagers should install them on their computers!

I am not very sure about it but since we know that pornography is not yet a legal thing in India,. we can safely assume as such sites being illegal. But there might be that some sights are legal because as far as I know there are a number of sites that require you to pay them using your credit card before you can access them and that would not be possible if they were not legal.

I am not sure about Indian sites but since those are not blocked so there is no question of legal or illegal. There is no certificate issued as such.

These are available. I have given some links. The legal position is that you can see these sites. But making and distributing these is unlawful.
