I have never traveled in a double Decker train ever. Its a good move by the government as recently when I went to Jaipur (due to the rains) it took me almost 9 hours to reach Delhi.
The way I saw Jaipur waterlogged today even double Decker won't be able to run. This is always a problem traveling on the Jaipur Delhi rout while it rains. The traffic jams make it a big problem around midway due to heavy water logging.
I was thinking of boarding the double decker this time. Is it so I thought rains wont affect the trains much. At least not as much as the buses!
Once I was installed there for almost two days while the road ahead was under 4-5 ft of water. We stayed in a nearby town over night and could move later. The Gurjar movement was also one of the causes.
The Gujjar protest always surface at a time of the year and it creates a lot of problems. The highway is so boring and full of a lot of problems.
The highway is one of the best but the water logging is some thing common during rainy season when the open the gates to save dam in Punjab that makes its impact in Haryana and roads become water logged. I have found a place named Shiva Oasis to stay overnight.
