writing irrelevant post

I have noticed that some posts are irrelevant to the subject. The post must be according to the topic and no unnecessary post should be inserted. These have to be deleted by moderator.

Secondly, I also noticed a spam post on South Indian saris. This contained link to site advertising saris. Such posts are liabkle to be deleted and even more severe action taken by admin.

I request all to cooperate. If you find any spam, please report.

what links have to be shared and what links should be avoided? I have a doubt? news article links ok? youtube links ok? :S please let me know. bit confusing.

You can add you tube links and articles links, also song links. Don't worry. But never provide links to your own sites or blogs. Also, to advertisement sites. :) :)

ok now I am clear with this. If article containing any ads means is it ok?

Just check it, if that web page belongs to any advertising sites. If not, it's Ok.

Every web page contains at least 1 ad. Isn't it? Don't worry about that. But make sure, the link you are providing is something related to your post or discussion topic

No, I don't think adding your article links in posts is allowed, if that was allowed every one would have flooded the forums with article links. So any thing that becomes reason of earning is not allowed or redirects a member to any other sites.

But we can provide Boddunan article links in forum, if it's a part of discussion. I have confirmed it from admin, a few months back.

That does not redirect a member to any other site but this site only. That is not a problem.
For spamming there should be a strict action against the member otherwise this site won't get rid of the spammers. No doubt some time me too get out of track from the topic but it happens sometimes when we are in rythn but most of the time I try not to deviate from the topic I know its not good for the site.

I too feel that there should be strict action against spamming,if we look around most of the discussion topics have more spamming about personal issues instead of concentrating on the topic ..One can understand a little bit of additional information , but pages full of it ,many a times between just 2 members is nothing but spamming ...

I only can hope and pray that once the new team is in place, such practices will be abhorred and such posts will be deleted immediately. As of now, I am afraid to take any action on such personal stuff because of recent happenings!

Yes , that is understandable kalyani ! I am sure that there will be a lot of positive changes here once the new team takes over :)

As we discussed on a thread that unless here would be a fixed number of postings per member this issue would remain a controversial one as every one has some thing to prove in favor of his/her post. But beyond a limit of postings on a particular thread there isn't much one can add unless this is some thing regarding a current affair that takes a new turn every day.
Now a days I had not seen such spamming post previously I observed warned and complained but not now.

I guess you have a point there ,however one can refrain from posting irrelevant matters and post only when there is something to add on...It will be good to have specific guidelines for discussions so that moderators too find their task easy, otherwise it becomes difficult for them as well...

UshaG all said and done we are here to write, write and write and when I found people writing 200+ posts without writing any thing, I too joined the forces. Now I think both schools are right as there are no clear guide lines from the site itself.

Yes I agree that when you cant win them join them is what most people are forced to do - lets wait for better and happier days when we only post what matters ...there should be lighthearted discussions and posts but not pages and pages of it where other members even if they want to add something ,get demotivated because the discussion has completely lost its track..

May be, but only to a certain extent...and in the long run it does not add any value to the site or its members. After all any online forum is a team work and when we get paid for it we have to be responsible , at least that's what I feel... And one can have a lot of fun by making the discussion interesting :)

Sorry I was trying to be a little sarcastic, you took it seriously.
Now a days some new members are adding links to their posts with their blog links. And found previously some porn site links also it was complained to moderator and deleted.

You mean blog links are not allowed here? But I can see many members having their promotional links on this site. Is it allowed, perhaps I can also put my own.

I got your point, I can put my promotion link as my signature but cannot post it here, thanks.
