I read in today's newspaper.
Gandhiji was arrested for Quit India Movement and he went on hunger strike for 21 days in the prison. British thought, he will die and they even arranged Sandal wood for his funeral. Nothing happened to him. But surprisingly, his wife died and those sandal wood were used for her funeral.
Let us all remember our Quit India Movement once more and pay homage to all Indian freedom fighters. :) :) :)

The Quit India Movement(Bhārat Chodo Āndolan), or the August Movement (August Kranti) was a civil disobedience movement launched in India in August 1942 in response to Mohandas Gandhi's call for immediate independence. The All-India Congress Committee proclaimed a mass protest demanding what Gandhi called "an orderly British withdrawal" from India. The call for determined, but passive resistance appears in his call to Do or Die, issued on 8 August at the Gowalia Tank Maidan in Bombay.

So this was GandhiJi who started all this - hunger strike and agitation against evil. I think he set a bad example as this is now the main weapon used by government employees to use whenever they want their salary to be hiked or go on undue leave free without applying for.
Agreed. What was right in 1942 may not be correct now. We need not follow Gandhi, Subhash and Bhagat Singh. Now we should work sincerely to our best and abide by Constitution. We need follow Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

When a government employee is appointed he ia required to sign a bond. All terms and conditions are written clearly there. Why can't our governments apply the rules strictly and blanket-ban them going for illicit activities with no roll back. Air India strikes frequently are the worst examples.
Now rules are made strict in our state. High court has passed a law stating...."If any party cause damage to public properties during strike, they have to pay for it".
After that law was passed, no one is damaging buses, furniture or buildings during strikes. I think it should be implemented all over India. Earlier, how many buses and other vehicles have been fired during strikes!!!

Come on they don't care for such laws also the recent ruling says that the recognition of a party shall not be in danger if any such case reported or proved. This is almost impossible to prove due to long litigation process.

Such cases are not even reported in newspapers. So, it has really worked :woohoo: :woohoo:
Last week also one harthaal was there, related to arrest of Jayarajan in Kannur. Yet, no such reports came. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
At that time, we had a lot of leaders who can guide us nicely. But it's not the case now. That's why Gandhiji's principles can't be implemented now.
Gandhiji dreamt of a corruption free India. But what have we given him in return?
If he see present India, it's sure, he will think, British ruled India better than Indians

What is the difference? They were looting and sending money to England but today they are looting on a bigger scale and sending money to Switzerland. Just what is the difference. Public suffering in both cases.
