I stay in New Delhi and it affected me a lot. There power cut on yesterday from 2.30am till 9.00am.and again from today morning till evening.I could not post any thing in forum .Because there was no charge in my laptop. But people suffered a lot.
I saw this on the news ..It seems it is also raining heavily which has made matters worse !http://www.newstrackindia.com/newsdetails/2012/07/31/428--Power-failure-rains-hit-Delhi-traffic-commuters-.html
Yesterday from morning till 7.30 pm, we had a powercut. Later also 3-4 times.....today morning also, 1-1.5 hours power cut each!!!!
I don't know if it's related to that problem.

Today it's the headlines of our newspaper......"India in Dark". It's said, 22 states are affected with it. Main problem was for electric trains where people had to wait for a long time.
And the situation is worst in NOIDA industrial area as all industries are running on gensets many of them have shut down their factories to save money and diesel.

Do some industries not use natural gas sold by Gas authority of India Ltd. At Agra, some units are using gas. However, I agree that electricity is main source and all others are standby arrangements. It is necessary to provide sufficient power to agriculture and industry.
Is that error rectified????

I think this is fixed that is why we are getting uniterrupted supplies since yesterday. But still the situation is not good in UP.

I think the problem still exists as there are three grids that have collapsed! And to topi it all, Energy Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has been offered the post of the Union Home Minister!
Yes it was an unforseen circumstance. Yesterday we faced problems due to power failure. Entire area was in dark. I was lucky enough to complete my scores for revenue sharing one day before.
Why the power grids fail. all about the power grids and why these fail. see:

Today itself 5-6 times, till now, power has gone for half-one hour. I don't know if it's related to this problem. Yesterday we got power only after 7.15 only....that also for a very short period.
We had a terrible time yesterday! It's a wake-up call for the nation. The power scenario looks very grim. This year inadequate monsoonal rains have complicated the situation.
Yes, in Kerala also only 40% rainfall.....i.e 60% lower than expectations....
So, a huge power cut is waiting for us.....

I think this time we will have to bear some more power cuts as we are not able to fulfill demand which is increasing day by day.
Power grid failure caused heavy loss in our country. Now a days most works are done with the help of electricity.Heavy machine are run by electricity.Next all important work are related with electricity.
Due to the power grid failure we all had to suffer a lot.And in Delhi it was very hot at that time.Really a very bad condition.
Now this is an old issue and problem resolved. Hence thread is locked.
