I know he is very much Indian but should we divide him? I would never say that I congratulate any one because he belongs to a particular state. I have been saying this That he would be our next President even before he filed his papers because he deserved to be there for different reasons.

No doubt Pranab Mukherjee is an Indian. But he is from West Bengal state. This makes Bengalis proud. There is nothing wrong. Similar feelings were there in Maharashtra when Pratibha Patil was elected President. People in Uttar Pradesh also feel proud of so many Prime Ministers from the state. This is natural. Only there should be no hatred against others.

Yes Pranab Mukherjee has been congratulated for being 13th President of India by PM and his wife, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, at his residence. People celebrated this occasion in Kolkata and other states also. He won by great majority votes.
