Actually, each person's chutney differs at least by a little bit and through this discussion am hoping I will get some secret recipes :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: . Kalyani says, she knows to make 7-8 types. Let me steal some recipes from her kitchen also :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

One way I prepare chutney is mix together grated fresh coconut 2 cups, half cup roasted chane ki dal (don't know what you call it), red chillies, salt, a piece of tamarind ( as per taste) Grind all together with a little water. Then add tempering of mustard seeds and fresh curry leaves. Yummy!!!
I like onion chutney, just remove the skin of the onion and chop them into medium piece, then make tamrind juice, grind tamrind juice,onions and little cumin seeds. then add few seasoned mustard seeds. thats it. The taste will be amazing. We can have this with idly,vada,uttappam and dosas
