Mornings of South Indians normally start with idli or dosa or steamcake. i.e. Breakfast normally include rice, rich and abundant content of carbohydrates that give you energy the whole day. Lunch also, normally rice food. Before my marriage, I used rice food at supper too. Now, almost all South Indians have made their supper 'wheat' food for health reasons which is really nice.
Rice food is not good for sugar patients. Also, it can lead to put on weight too. Yet, everyone has to admit, it's nutritious too, giving us energy a lot.
How much/often do you include rice food in your diet?

I am Punjabi, and i like to have wheat both at lunch and Dinner. I can't satisfy my hunger, if i don't get roti in my food.
If Roti is prepared in our house, then i prefer Roti only. I don't eat Rice at that time.
But if only Pullav or Khichdi or Biryani is prepared, i do it rice at that time.

No break fast of us include rice, only pulihora (Tiger bath) will have rice
Idli and dosa????
Tiger in our language is also puli
But, I think this 'pulihora' is a Tamil dish in which Tamarind is added to get sour taste and puli in Tamil and Malayalam means sour taste....
Actually, 'la' is pronounced a little different (we have two alphabets).
This alters the flavour, texture and appearance of the rice and helps prevent spoilage and extend its storage life. After milling, the rice is polished, resulting in a seed with a bright, white, shiny appearance. The milling and polishing processes both remove important nutrients. A diet based on unenriched white rice leaves people vulnerable to the neurological disease beriberi, due to a deficiency of thiamine (vitamin B1). White rice is often enriched with some of the nutrients stripped from it during its processing. Enrichment of white rice with B1, B3, and iron is required by law in the United States, although these nutrients are only a small portion of what has been removed.
