Saralaji,having Coffee or toffee.
I guess sweet is having more sugar/sweet in it in compare of coffee.. So when we drink coffee after having sweet we feel less sugar in it.. That's what my guess. :)
May me i guess anand you are right.

but once again am telling clearly.
I ate a sweet then after 2 minutes i had a bornvita. Then there is no taste in bornvita i mean no sugar taste in bornvita. I felt as if i forgot to add sugar in it. So i asked my mom to taste it, she said there is enough sugar in bornvita.
Everything in world is relative and not absolute. So is case of sweetness. Sweets being sweeter, coffee is no more sweet. This is just like a candle light getting dim in day light.
Once you eat some thing sweeter your taste buds would not sense the taste of lesser sweet items. Like if you happen to be in a hot sun a shaded place would feel cool.

When we eat sweets, Our mouth become sweeter. So,that's why when we have coffee, our mouth doesn't understand that coffee is sweet or not.

Our Tongue has some glands, which decides the taste.
May be the glands become confuse   :silly: to decide the Sweetness.
Ronark, then why this does not happens in the case of chili, when we eat less chili, same taste and more chili same taste

I think so, this is again a very complicated issue, this needs deeper research I guess.
sweet can satisfy the sweet gland and the gelly come out after that when we take again sweet then no juice come out from gland. this may be a reason.
Nice analyzation ram. Let see what others will give reply for this

You know well,
it's due to our taste buds we are able to identify different tastes....
So, when we are taking something sweet, all sweet identifying taste buds (pores) will be filled with sweet particles. So, when we drink coffee/tea after that, its particles can't reach taste buds as they are already filled with sweetness of teh toffee in-taken a few minutes ago. That's why we can't identify sweetness.
Just wash your mouth and have the tea.
It's the best method to enjoy a hot sweet cup of tea/coffee

I like the suggestion. It is always nice to wash your mouth and tongue after eating and take tea/ coffee thereafter.
Eating some thing salted would give the best result. That would take the sweet taste off.
