There may be many reasons like they might be taking a revenge from that person,may be they get happiness by doing it.It all depends on the person may be he is trying to impress someone by doing it or even getting money for doing it from someone. :blink:

Yes it is a personality trait, some have it in them to cheat at every given opportunity.We get to hear about people who do that day in and day out.Giving false hope and cheating others out of their money has become very common these days.But people fall for it and the cheaters make their money, sometimes get caught too..

I think its also one type of psychological problem. The first reason is mostly desire and then comes revenge.. But its not completely feasible to know what the cheat wants.

Revenge is not the main aim of a cheater but cheater only does it for personal gain. Besides there are different kind of cheaters, see if some one is not faithful to his/her partner that too is kind of cheating.

True! The truth all people are inherently built that way, but as we grow and mature, we learn to harness such traits. To help harness such undesirable traits, our education, surroundings, culture etc. play influential roles! For some, cheating others is simply the right way to live, they cannot help it, so that is a psychological deviation of their personalities!
