It's said, break fast is the most important meal which gives you energy for the whole day to work. Which are your normal break fast items?
We have a variety of items...Idli, dosa, Appam or Idiyappam with Chuney, Vegetable curries or Sambaar and Steam cake or Upma with banana. What about you?

Tea, biscuits, eggs, bread- This is my breakfast.
No sandhya, the dish which is prepared for break fast , i dont like at all. It will make me lazy. so I had ice cream

What are your normal break fast items?

Today I had Appam and Potato stoo
Normal break fast items are idly with coconut chutney which i hate, chapati with mango pickle and some time potato curry, Dosa with coconut chutney, samya upma, rava upma, samya rava upma, green gram dosa with coconut chutney, noodles, rava dosa and some times bread

Why can't you make appam or idiyappam. It's really nice!!!

I prepared potato stew today, instead of a mixed vegetable stoo. It's very easy yaar..
Actually I make appam at least 2 days a week....so easy...
I always keep yeast in my fridge. Also a pinch of baking soda is needed.
Rice used for its preparation is same as that of idli or dosa....unboiled raw rice. Why can't you try it tomorrow and surprise your parents??

Do you know, after taking photograph of that Appam, i gave it to my hubby saying.... years after, when people open this article, you can proudly say to them, these two appams went to my stomach :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

We laughed a lot after I said so.....Isn't it a nice joke???? :cheer: :cheer:
When i was in hostel,i used to have daily Breakfast but now in home as i don't woke up early,so no breakfast.
Sometimes i eat Biscuits. But Milk is Regularly taken 3 times
Everyone is behind bread and biscuits. I don't know why? :blink: :blink:

I think, carbohydrate diet is best for mornings!!! It gives you more energy to work!!!!
Even if a little heavy, no problem!!

Sandhya,whatever you told that you have in your breakfast,if i am not wrong,all contains Rice and Rice is very light to have and also we feel that we had something in our stomach.
I prefer to have Potato stuffed Parntha, butter and pickle along with some milk or curd That is what my standard routine, but I am not fussy can eat any thing on offer provided the quantity is sufficient, my first diet should be enough to keep me going for whole day.

Yes, rice contains all.
That's why South Indians prefer it most for breakfast and lunch.
But for supper, we need something light. Isn't it?
That's why nowadays even South Indians are going for Chapathi.

I too am a great supporter of healthy nutritious breakfast.In fact most dieticians agree that breakfast should be our main meal and lunch should be moderate and dinner ,frugal...
I make sure that we have a good breakfast - normally idlis,dosas,upma,chapatis or bread and eggs, sometimes oats or corn flakes with fruits...

Although I am not all that typical Punjabi, I can eat, Dosa and Idli as well but they should be coocked in typical south Indian way. Dosa made north Indian style tastes more like Cheela and idly like rice.
I love have chinese food as break fast and rava dosa. Then we get alot of energy as they digest very slowly

tuesday,thursday,saturday: biscuits,omelete/bulls eye,chips
sunday: dosa/upma
every second saturday: potato bread upma / poha upma
