I have often seen cats eating grass.
Why is it so? Many people say, it's due to stomach pain
Is it true? If so, how can it identify its medicine in a bush?

Yet, how can they identify? Are they specialist doctors? :woohoo: :woohoo:
I am very much sure that we had discussed on one of the other threads quite recently, something about pets!! Anyway to topic, cats eat grass when they eat something bad or when their stomach is upset and even when they are sick generally. They know which ones to eat because their sense of smell is very acute! Eating grass helps clean their stomach and its their natural therapy to get well soon.
No, sandhya it is only applicable for cats only. not dogs. Dogs never eat grass
Actually, sarala you would very much surprised to know that not only dogs but even wild animals like tigers eat grass occasionally!! All carnivorous animals are in fact omnivorous, which means they eat animals as well as plants. Since meat does not provide too much of fiber, they eat grasses and certain other plants to supplement their diet with fibers.
So cats, dogs, tigers, lions all eat grasses!! Let their be no confusion about this fact!!!
I saw them eating watermelon peels yesterday, I think they can eat grass too. I have heard that tigers are eating grass these days.
Yeah right, I had a cat some years back who loved to eat peels from boiled potatoes, raw potatoes and ripe tomatoes!! My mum had to keep the potatoes hidden somewhere because he could climb on top of tall cabinets to get at the potatoes, tomatoes were saved because he couldn't open the fridge!! We rationed it to one tomato a day for him!!

That cute terrier is kinda terror for vegetable sellers, they would dare not pass through without offering a vegetable to him.
