Kalam or Pranab Mukherjee?

I wonder whether this is humor section. President is to be elected by elected members of parliament and state assemblies. Pranab Mukherjee is candidate of UPA and NDA is also likely to support him. He will definitely be elected. The political system is based on political parties.

Even if Trinmool congress and some others support Kalam, he will not be candidate. He will contest only if he gets guarantee of winning election.

Kalam is non candidate and so voting for him even on Boddunan will make no sense. However, Sangma will contest as he can take risk of losing. Hence I request Hon'ble members of this forum to kindly consider voting for Sangma, Prominent leader of North East and ex speaker.

APJ is a graceful man, he would not stand as a candidate for president's post unless certain of getting elected. He has refused categorically to participate in this contest.

kalam ji may be best but pranab da may be suitable for that post now.

I can not say about other Begalis but I don't have a dual personality in me! Bengalis in general are not parochial - this much I can say!

It has nothing to do with actual election process, but an exercise to gauge the feelings of members!

My vote goes to Pronob if it matters. Because Pronob is talented enough and can treat them at par.

Kalam desires to be President but he cannot take risk of losing. If you cannot risk, you are useless. Who can guarantee him cent percent victory. if he could dare contest just on Mamata Banerjee support, an environment could be made to support and vote for him on conscience.

It is good that Kalam could not be a fighter pilot as he desired in childhood. Then he would fly only if he got 100 % guarantee of victory against enemy.

If you do not like Pranab, support Sangma. He is willing to contest risking defeat.

Thanks for the link. Pranab Mukherjee is not yet President but he will be after elections. He is now forerunner in the race. He is sure to win and be the President of India.

Actually we have only one educated person.....that is kalam...if our politicians are not educated ...how they choose an educated person...pranaab helps a lot to sonia ji..so he is selected for this post.....kalam is my choice.... :) :) :) :) :)

In fact, Pranab Mukherjee is highly educated and his qualifications are more matching with President job. Kalam's qualification for President job is just like preferring an engineer degree while selecting for Medical officer job.

Moreover, Kalam is not a candidate. Sangma may be. So, Sangma may be considered. However, Sangma wants President job just because he is tribal. In view of such narrow thinking, he is not suitable. so, Pranab Mukherjee is the only suitable candidate.

If Sonia Ji visits this site and reads this thread, she will be amused. She will see the total number of members on stats and find out that those participating in this thread are handful and they are voting for a non candidate.

There are 8400 members in the site so the winning candidate should get at least 4300 members' support. Moreover, Kalam being a non candidate, there is only one candidate viz. Pranab Mukherjee. Other candidates like Sangma are not being considered in Boddunan. Thus there is only one valid candidate and is elected unopposed (no voting needed) on Boddunan site.

And how many people are there who would participate while electing our new president? No I am not asking the value of their votes, which vary from state to state. Just the head count.

No one would harm him, he is such an innocent guy, otherwise also he is well protected.

I have been hearing a lot of gush-gush comments about Pranab Mukherjee from some of my friends and when I challenged some of them to cite a single concrete achievement of this gentleman for justification of their such high-flown praise - all were groping for words! Ha!
