I think property investment is less risky than other options. 1 month before, we have made such an investment

Yes, property is probably the best investment option since it appreciates a lot in years. The only snag is that one cannot get money quickly when it is needed unlike bank deposits..
Despite volatility, investment in quality stocks for long term and regular basis is a sound policy. There should be mix of investment in insurance, bank deposits, fixed deposits in banks and post office schemes.

Absolutely right! What is important to note here that property prices have substantially corrected in other parts of the world but not in India. So a correction is due anytime from now. We must an appropriate portfolio which is fairly representative. Bank deposit-though gives a kind of feeling of security- ranks low in my scheme of things! Besides, the market has entered an extremely oversold zone!
Yes, it's better to have different investment policies. Usha, if you want quick liquidity, you can invest a small amount in gold too. But pure gold can't be put in banks, only..can be sold later

Yes that is a very wise option, dont put all your eggs in one basket :cheer: Post office schemes dont pay much but tax rebate is for a higher amount and that helps..

I think, they can't be withdrawn suddenly

Post Office deposits ? I think there is a minimum lock in period after which you can withdraw but you lose the extra interest that is paid to you..

I think it's applicable for fixed deposits too!!!

If you have a plan to build a home in distant future, you can buy land now. If possible, buy a little more. At the time of construction, you may sell a little part of it to build your mansion

Thats true, In cities like Bangalore property prices have been doubling every 3 years since the past 9 or 10 years and one cannot expect it to go on escalating at the same pace...
Bank deposits are the safest as of now since mutual funds are related to stock markets performance,Insurance too is not a bad option...
Investments through property is not at all correct. and very risky

No Sarala.....
I don't know the condition of your state....

In Kerala, real estate has grown very much.
In 1999, we bought 25 cents...per cent 5000 rupees. In 2006, we were just to sell it at the time of my marriage for 35,000 per cent. But due to some reasons, it couldn't happen. Now, it's market price is above 1 lakh per cent...even if it has only 1 metre path to that land....(no car or an auto). That's the case of land price here.
If had 3 metre road, the same land would price more than 2 lakh per cent.

That's why real estate is a big business here. Many have earned crores.
Thrissur also, land bought by some big teams, 5000 per cent now costs more than 50,lakh per cent. Can you imagine???

It is the same anywhere in the world.Property prices have to go up, though they may stagnate a bit...There is always demand for properties.
Population may be one reason....where people want land to build houses. Isn't it?
Then shopping complexes and malls too!
Now a days everyone want to have a own house as their property which help in future

I guess people have always wanted to own properties and build houses for themselves.Nowadays investment has taken priority and people own many house sites and properties.

yes this is the main reason for growth of real estate. Investing on property is the best option now as property value grows every year. :cheer:
Yes banks has reduced the interest rate on house loans so it is easy to build house.
Usha,
It's your decision though we can give you our suggestions. It's your money. hoping you will invest it wisely
