It may be a matter of satisfaction that two Indian languages, namely Hindi and Bangla are among the most spoken languages in the world.

Tamil,Hindi.


Sorry but this is Bengali the other one, which figures in top 10 in the world.
Hindi and Bengali are two languages included in top 10 headed by mandarin.

French is one of the most spoken languages and I know french :) Surprised to see Bengali in the list though. :unsure:

Yes French is at 10th spot while the Bengali is much above the ladder. :) Bengali is spoken in Bengal and Bangla Desh so this is natural that it has more than 150 million people who speak it.

It varies from place to place.But often we have heard that Hindi and Bangla are the languages used by the people widely.Beside these people used Punjabi, Marathi, Assamese etc as their mother tongue.

I think in our country Hindi is most spoken language.

Its little bit surprising to see Bengali in the list as throughout the country we cannt see people speaking it other than bengal...but still?

You have not taken into account Bangladesh which is a Bengali speaking country with a big population+ WB in India.

I think asians are spread in all over the world. Specially, Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani so hindi has been spread by these people all over the world.

When i was in Nigeria, i was in 5th standard, at that time i was having french as a subject. I have learn some sentences, some words in french.

I think asians are spread in all over the world. Specially, Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani so hindi has been spread by these people all over the world.


Hindi is among the most spoken in the world due to 700 million Hindi speaking natives. Bengali is spoken by almost 150 million people in Bangladesh and India. English is not no1 but Mandarin one of the two Chinese languages becuse this is spoken by almost 1200 million people in China only.

Knowing other country languages is really a gift to us. Because though we may not know the skill but due to this language skill in our work place Ceo will surely prefer us

There are god number of Bengalis in Assam and Meghalaya. Besides, Bengali is also spoken in Tripura. The Bengalis in Tripura and Meghalya are mostly refugees from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh)
