Marriage without dowry

By thread it great to know there are few people who got married and thinking to marry without dowry. I wish them all the best.

All boys should keep one thing in their mind that they should ask for dowry,when go for search of girl.

My marriage is love with arranged marriage ....while I was in Army I refused to marry my wife due to my life was very dangerous there. :) :) :) :)

After that got married her without dowry... dowry is cheapest think and I think they can rate me...Never ..I cannot accept it.

I can manage my family by the God's mercy only..not humans mercy..

I see a incident,one day i go to attend my friend Marriage.At the day of marriage girl parent cannot Fulfill their demand.They want to stop marriage and ready to go home but that boys Refuse this.All family member gone but still the boy ready to do marriage with that girl without any Dowry.

It's true.....such boys are needed for Indian society.

I now remember...when my marriage was about to happen, I was in very tension seeing pressure of my parents.
When I told my would be about this, he said, "I just want to marry you. You should come as early as possible. Just arrange some gold coated ornaments for the marriage, if you feel you really want ornaments" :P :P :)

Of course my own marriage was done without any dowry and the expenditure was shared by both the sides...It was the same with my brother and sister too.We have no dowry system in our community ...If someone wants to gift something on their accord that is something else, like for example , my cousin brother married a very rich girl and he was given a Honda city car by his father in law...

Ya great to see many people are against the dowry,But we try to make it everyone.....

This is 'no dowry' system in our community not on demand at least. We never entertain any one who asks for it although marriages are big ceremonies in our area but no cash. Gifts are our choice.

But in my cast marriage means dowry taking business, they wont bother about how the girl look and all.

In our culture(Punjabi Culture) Dowry is taken,but its the girl's parents who give it.It is said that if they don't give dowry,girl will not be happy.
