Hi friends, I would like to suggest a new idea, which might increase the members activity and also Page impressions. We do have forum supporter of the week award, but I guess Member of the week award will be more interesting and will increase the members activity. So let me suggest some ideas about this...
1) Member who gets maximum points in a week can be rewarded as the Member of the Week.
2) Most important thing is that... at the home page we need the following things,
i) AT THE HOME PAGE....We must mention the name of the member who is the leading the points table for the member of the week. If we want we can have the top 2 users name, who is leading the leaders point table for the week.
ii) I guess a countdown time can also be used, and according to this the hours countdown ( or minutes) can be displayed, which says the number of minutes left for the week and this also indicates that the member who gets the maximum points within the week, gets the award.
iii) Most important things is that this table must be live, i.e if B overtakes A, then the next moment B's name must be mentioned as the leader of the week and as usual, this will intensify the competition among members and the member who gets maximum points in a week wins this award.
3) Cash credits must be essential and I guess Rs.100 for Member of the Week will encourage members.
So friends, this is just a suggestion and you can give your ideas and feedback, so that it helps the moderator to think about this idea.

So did you mean enhancing the Forum supporter of the week to Member of the week to cater entire site scope?
However, if we do that based on points, members will unnecessarily visit the pages and do not stay on them which is not useful. If we have something that overcome this problem, the idea is good to go.

Hi Maverick We can have both Member of the week and FSOW. Ya, as you said, there will be some problems and in case do you think that the points system for MOW will not be good,you can also think an alternative way, apart from point criteria, for awarding member of the week. I guess more suggestion from members will be very helpful
If we go for points, then we can also exclude the points that a member gets from commenting and voting and the remaining total points in a week can be considered for MOW. The reason is that, as Maverick said, there is a large chance for members to comment unnecessarily for getting points and MOW.
