Yes plants not only sleep at night but the feel disturbed as well like human. I still remember my mother who used to say that never pluck a fruit or flower as plants are like living creatures who might get disturbed.
Still now we also say our children not to touch the plants at night as they sleep .
Yes even I dont touch the plants or even water them at night.
Yes we say it they rest at night so don't disturb them but may be at night they exhale carbon dioxide so its saying that we should not go nearby them. :)

Yes thats true plants exhale carbon dioxide at night as the process of photosynthesis stops during night time.
This is one of the reasons we should avoid going to plants during night hours more than any thing else.
Yes plants sleep in night to take rest at that time they exhale carbon-dioxide.
If you have noticed that the leaves of the plants get downward and not as active. Even the colors of the leaves change but that could be due to lack of chlorophyll.
Yes I noticed this but not taken it as seriously now I will notice it clear tonight.
And the important thing is they are living creature so we must understand that in day time they remain busy like us in their activities so they too need rest so we should not disturb them at night. :)
Yes we must not sleep under the trees at night as they release carbondioxide.
Yes, I also think.
I think, every living things need rest....not only animals :P
Yes i have noticed it too ..they look more fresh and bright during day time and look dull at night time.. They are like humans..
Plants do sleep at night. During night, the photosynthesis proces ceases and only respiration takes place. The glucose which is prepared in the plant during the day time is rapidly transported to various plant parts and is stored there. The walls of the guard cells collapse due to reduced osmotic pressure and the stomata gets closed.

Thats good explanation. its very true..
Gowri is back as a zoology student she explained well.

Nicely presented here.

Oh but i read it in 9th standard. But Gauri explained it well as if she is a teacher of botony.

i was not aware of the fact that she is a teacher of botany.so if i will have any query regarding botany or terms related to it i will now ask her. :)
Plants also has life like humans they also need rest so they take rest just like us when sun is out of there.
