They use to say a live elephant costs one hundred thousands where as a dead one costs one hundred and twenty five thousands of Rupees. I think there must be some appreciation in the prices now.

For the one posted on this thread it could be 10 paisa but he real one might cost you between 2 to 5 lakhs (adult)

In Kerala, it's inevitable part of temple celebrations......particularly Thrissur people.... Most land lords and rich people have elephants...it's a sign of fashion....particularly....half century back
