Yes there are many significance of this day.It is called also workers day.On this day workers got their many rights specially eight hours job per day.

Today Thrissur people celebrated it for Pooram than the 'May Day'. I too..... :evil:

May day reminds us the importance of labor. We must respect labor and work against exploitation. also, we should campaign against begging and work for society where everyone earns by labor only.

To be very frank, despite having one of the biggest labor at our disposal we are a country who have no respect for labor. And this has nothing to do about laborer but labor.

May day is celebrated as International Worker's Day.On 1st May there is a national holiday in more than 80 countries in honor of the struggle of working people against their opressors.
1st May is also celebrated as Maharashtra day in Maharashtra because the state got its statehood on 1st May 1960
