What is curtain lecture?????
I am hearing it for the first time. Can you say a few words?

A curtain lecture is secret or indoor chiding or even more by wife.

Let me mention here a very famous curtain lecture that gave a very great Hindi poet and devotee to Lord Rama.

Once Tulsi Das climbed a snake to reach his wife at first floor. He took the snake for rope. This was his over eagerness. In he famous curtain lecture, she said that if instead of loving so much her body of flesh and bones, he turned to Lord Rama, he would have risen to great heights. This lecture inspired Tulsi Das to write his famous work 'Rama Charit Manas'.

I daily get it but not a lecture like Tulsi Das got from his wife which changed his life totally. :laugh:

Apart from Tulsi Das, Kalidas was also benefited by curtain lectures. He was a total fool and some scholars managed to marry him to a very learned princess. The princess turned Kalidas to a very great poet by means of a series of curtain lectures.

Kakaiyi, queen of Dasarath misused the power of administering curtain lectures to banish Rama to forests for fourteen years and enthrone her son Bharat.

I remember that a colleague of mine would get severe reprimand and also corporal punishment during curtain lecture. One day, his neighbor asked him about this. He disclosed everything. He was in more trouble as he got more sever beating. He absconded and his wife was left repenting for excessive torture of her husband.

Even neighbors could hear sounds of beating and scolding. Disgusted, the husband left never to come again. The wife depended solely on her husband for her financial needs. She became very miserable and was exploited by others.

Sandhya there are both situations where wife beats husband and husband beats wife. these are common.
