Mainly the business man celebrate this day as new copy of credit. They invite us and greets with some sweet and drinks.
We celebrate by wearing new cloths and eat good foods as the first day of year and greets all, with a wish that the whole year should remain with joy and happiness.
I wish you a shubh Nab varsha as well. I know this is new year for people in Bengal. Maybe the spellings differ, right?

It's like extracting answers at gun-point!! Well, it's more of a social occasion in West Bengal and neighboring Bangladesh. The people visit temples, wear new clothes and hold cultural functions. Here a blood donation camp was organized. Being a holiday declared by the government, the mood was festive!!
