The benefits of having Tulsi around the homes are known since ancient times. Therefore, each and every Hindu home in Maharashtra has a Tulsi Vrindavan outside the front door and the ladies of the house perform Tulsi Pooja each morning without fail for 10-15 minutes. The idea is that the more time they spend around the Tulsi plant, the more they are exposed to Oxygen and purifying properties of the plant and they are recharged with energy for the entire day.

Sadly, no spaces in front of the homes means no Tulsi Vrindavan, and with added responsibilities of working outside homes, this ritual is fast disappearing!!
