It is said that socialism is like a hat that has lost its shape because every one wears this. Already we have Lohia, Jau Prakash, Congress brand socialism thoughts. This is not exactly defined.

CPI(M) has discovered 'Desi' brand by discarding Soviet and Chinese models. Thus even in Marxist thinking there are many models of socialism. How confusing indeed.

The main important point in socialism is to disburse the property from rich people to poor people. Every one should be equal in all statuses. For the political benefit, leaders change the concept of socialism.
Socialism is that where one individual treats every other individual as equal and do not categorize them into rich and poor which leads to discrimination.
Many parties talk about socialism but they don't follow this principle.
There are various concepts of socialism. Essentially, socialism means providing equal opportunities to all. There can be no equality in absolute terms. There is only equal or fair opportunities to all. Marxian socialism is characterized by class war and violence whereas the Congress idea of socialistic pattern of society is to bring about social reforms and justice through peaceful means and persuasion.

The Marxists are talking of native brand but they still cling to concept of class war and have not totally given up the option of non peaceful means.
