Forum Vs articles
I think forums give more page impressions so senior members please stay active in forums and also help new members to post articles and advice them to stay active in forums for while.

I enjoy participating in forum discussion. I don't find reading lenghy articles boring if it is well written and informative. A poor article might be boring but good articles still hold my interest
For online reading, i don't prefer very lengthy articles, however good it might be as I suffer from poor eye sights. But for offline articles, I don't mind lengthy ones.

I am not fond of extremely lengthy articles and especially when the online articles which sometimes are very repetitive. Even online articles lead to various links which is quite distracting.
