Forum Vs articles
I think forums give more page impressions so senior members please stay active in forums and also help new members to post articles and advice them to stay active in forums for while.
but we cant force any one

I would say why not do away with points for reading articles ,instead give one point when a relevant comment is left on the article ..
Good suggestion but that would again lead to indiscriminate commenting on articles. If only a relevant comment were to be granted points, which would be the ideal scenario, then it should be done manually by admin and moderators.

I agree that is too much effort and not practical, so better to do away with points for reading articles or if it is needed for revenue generation , better to limit the number per day

Actually, if it is worked out properly, then it would mean a great difference to the site. I am sure most other sites moderate/review the comments before publishing. It can work well here too but only if admin takes it seriously and is willing to pay something for doing that job. And as you say, it is not so practical here, limiting them to, say, 10 articles a day can work.

We have done all we can to make the member toe the line, but beyond a certain limit, it is the admin who needs to step up which is not happening here!

If I am not mistaken nowadays the comments given to an article are not automatically published but are subjected to review by the administrator. Though I don't know when does he review them.
I though endorse the suggestion given by Usha of doing away with the system of giving points to read an article. Reading something should be for our pleasure. Why let someone who doesn't even bother to read the article misuse the system?

I am not sure why comments posted on articles need to be reviewed ...in fact other than forum participation which too shd be restricted iny opinion , all other points should be stopped ..
According to me, the article contains a lot more than forums. But the article is the result of only one's intelligence while forum which includes a lot of answers is an outcome of so many people's judgment. So, obviously, the forum should be given more importance.
But I believe that instead of giving points on reading article points should be given if someone provides suggestion through a comment on the article. It will improve the quality an article too.

Yes I agree with that and thats what some of us members have been expressing in our posts earlier, not to give points for reading articles since it is being misused ..
