Friends, its a thing which roam few places and even few houses also. It give us information related to us and your relatives and friends.But it is not a living thing, it is not phone or mobile or it is not air. Actually its a old thing which now people stopped using much.

The first answer came in mind on reading the first two clues was mobile phone.But I think it is TV signal that is most suited.I hadn't gone through the answers of others.
