I think total height in cms minus 100 should be the maximum weight of the person in Kg

Is this for men or women? or same is good for both?

It's same for both....because, normally men have height than women.

Actually, there is a formula to calculate correct weight/height ratio. I will post it later.
What I gave was a simple approximate calculation.

that means if i am 175 tall then my standard weigh should be 75 Kgs. :)

This works better this way
Height in inches X 1 kg for men and 800 gm for women.
Like I am 73 inches and weight 74kg.
I am 70 inches height and my weight should be 70 kg. That means I am over weight.I heard weight some times depends on the weight of bone also.

Yes you can have some percentage for that also. Like 5% + or - is standard.
I really don't know about formula.. I am 71 Kgs with height 5"8'.. I guess I need to reduce some weight...

Anand, actually I spend some time to find this formula. Also, I was talking about Body mass index yesterday, that I regularly read in magazines. It is the standard formula to know whether we are having appropriate weight, accepted by all standards.
But later only I found that, we should input value according to pounds
Actually I don't know to convert kgs to pounds. Do you know? :P
About 440 gms is =pound that is a very simple thing.
