Food cooked in earthen/clay pots always tastes best than those cooked in other utensils made of iron, alloy, aluminium, non-stick etc. Can you tell me the reason?

These days, nobody uses earthen pots. I do not understand what difference a pot makes. If some element of the pot enters food, this must be bad.

I don't know sir...but there is a difference.
I use earthen pots only to cook fish. If I use some another pot, it really tastes different. Same is the difference between firewood hearth and gas stove. :)

Clay pots are expensive Ram. We can't get it below 40-50.

Also it tastes more good if we prepare fish, avial etc....in earthen pots
In west Bengal there are many poor villagers and they have no money.As the earthern pot is cheap they use it for cooking.
We make pongala at temples also in unused clay pots. It gives a special taste to the sweet
In Puri Jagannath temple still now earthern pots are used for bhog.
Don't know the reason but yes surely it cook more delicious than the normal ones... May be people likes clay test mixed in food...ha ha..lol

First of all food cooked in earthen pots is very healthy and also tasty. Earthen pots means pots made of clay or soil. Soil consists of minerals and calcium. This adds taste to our food items.
In west Bengal there are many poor villagers and they have no money.As the earthern pot is cheap they use it for cooking.


yesterday I bought 2 pots and a lid made of clay. After discount, we paid 220 for them. Earthen pots are not cheap :P :P

Earthern pots means natural.All those natural will taste more.That is why it is so.
