Its depends.. I am not saying to start with something big.. We can start with very small and as time pass we can make it bigger.. And I am saying that someone can start small business with their job...
Typist.....where is he? Can anyone see a typist in an office? Very rare. It comes under the category of vanished careers.
When IT industry substituted many industries, I think the most affected career is that of a typist and type writing.
One year before, I read through yahoo news......can't remember which company. It was one of the leading company that manufactures type writers in India. Last year, they made their last type writing machine. So, type writing machines have come to an extinct. :( I think so.
I would like some senior members to commend on this :)

I learnt English and Hindi typing in matriculation/ Intermediate in Commerce stream. There is now no career in typing and shorthand. But that knowledge is still helpful. I can type speedily on computer, which has a key board similar to manual type writer.
First 5 letters of keyboard 'QWERT' was taken from type writer.....I think person who discovered type writer or type writing machine.....not sure

No doubt typing knowledge helps but when as now we don't have typewrites so its better for people to take that training on keyboards rather than of typewriters. It would be more helpful. :)

I agree. In fact, I encourage beginners to learn typing on computer similarly as on manual type writer.
