Music Director - Your Favourite

I like A.R.Rahaman songs and Haris jayaraj songs.Particularly A.R.Rahaman songs i like so much.

Haris Jayaraj is not far behind Rehman. Once he was the assistant of Rehman.

His best are Minnale(Rehna hai tere dil mein) , Kakka Kakka(Force), Gajani (Tamil) and Muthal mazzai from film from Bheema, vettayadi vilayaadi.......and many more

I think it's very difficult to give a comprehensive list. I won't single out the ones who are legends but there a few who haven't got their dues like Vasant Desai - composer of such immortal number like 'Bole re Pappi' in Vani Jayram's mellufluous voice. Sardar Malik,C.Ramachandran, Madan Mohan,Vanraj Bhatia. I remember his compostion of the film 'Bhumika' in Preety Sagar's voice 'tumahare bina jina nahi'!

Bole re pappi haraar.....again another Malayalam singer...but can't find her name in Bollywood except those two songs from 'Guddi'. :( I don't know why.

There are so many others who sang a few and then vanished from the scene Vani Jayram is one such. Probably they could not stand the tough hold of mangeshkar sisters.

Was 'Guddi' remake of any Bengali movie? As I see the hero was from Bengal and Jaya was in her first Hindi movie, by the way I must remember Hrshikesh Da here. Truly great, even when making comedy, all of them.

It was not a remake but the flavour that ran through the film was that of Bengali and Hrishikesh Mukherjee was a master in his own right in the comedy genre!

After A.R.Rahman, only one music director has got that much fame. He is none other than Harris Jayaraj. Actually he was an assistant of A.R.Rehman years before.

I want to name my favourite Malayalam music directors too....Raveendran and Vidya sagar. Raveendran is known for his melodious songs and Vidya sagar, melodious songs with western touch. I love music of Dakshinamoorthy, Devarajan, Salil Chaudary,Ravi, Jerry Amal dev, Ouseppachan, M.G, Johnson and many more.......
Only Vidyasagar from present generation though he is 15 years old in Malayalam industry. But actually, he is from Andra or Karnataka.

The musical scenario in West Bengal is somewhat bleak. When I think of our past maestros like S.D.Burman,Salil Chodhury,R.D.Burman,Hemant Kumar and a host of other past greats,the cupboard looks so empty!

I like A.R. Rehman and Shankar Jai Kishan. I like their composes. They are the best.

Bengal has gifted many singers also.....Kishoreda, Kumar Sanu and the latest Sreya Goswal. Actually, she is now Kerala's asset because she is now the no.1 singer of Malayalam and has won many musical awards of Kerala for the past 3 years.

You have named some singers who are doing well but the problem here is that we don't have composers and lyricists of yester-years to take care of the present talents. I think Pritam Chakroborty is doing well in Mumbai now as a composer!

Pritham is good....but not extra ordinary.
At present, one of his songs is my ring tone....really a nice song from 'Ajab prem ki...'.

There is a similar song from Guruvayoor Kesavan.......the song is about Sandhya :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Both the songs have some similarities. When I searched web, I could find, both these songs are based on same Raga.
