In my state, most festivals of temples/churches/mosques are conducted from February to maximum, May 15th.....i.e. Summer season. Monsoon will come at May end.
What about your state and your festivals and celebrations belong to which season/months?

Holi is main festival in Agra, Mathura and around. The entire area is called Brij area. This is about fifteen days long. The Latha maar holi in barsana and nand gaon of Mathura district is famous.

Which month they are celebrated?
Also, I want to know whether festivals or celebrations occur in a particular month/season more frequently.

All of our festivals are related to just one thing and that is harvesting. This is mostly the starting or end of the season when farmers are free.

Durga puja and Kali puja are the main festivals in west bengal.
What is the difference in between Durga Pooja and Kali Pooja? I though both are same and celebrated in the month of October or November.
Bengalis have festivals in all months and Durga Puja happens to be the major one which normally comes off in September or October.

Actually Bengalis have this weakness for festivals and borrowed many from other states. Now I find them joining even 'Chaat' Puja festival which is major one in Bihar!
Our biggest celebration next to Onam is of course Vishu......Thrissur people give it equal importance to it as Onam. It may be because Guruvayur is here. It is celebrated on the first of Medam month....normally it comes on April 14 or 15. All people will make vishu kani on that day. Before midnight, one day before Vishu, senior lady decorate Kannan(krishna) and present before him all good things...fruits, money, gold, Kerala set sari/dhoti, mirror, coconut, jack fruit and the most important thing is 'Konna' flowers of yellow colour......and next dawn, all members should see it as first sight. i.e. They come to pooja room, open eyes to see the 'Vishu Kani' to see all good things.
Now, at my home, I decorate my kannan :cheer:
Here is the vishu kani for all of you.....and greeting to all of you in advance

Here in tamil nadu we have festivals in all months. But, important festival we celebrate is diwali and pongal. Diwali all you guys know when its celebrates and pongal we celebrates for 3 days. It comes on jan 13, 14 and 15.
These three dates are important and celebrated in every state in different way but all are related to harvesting some way or other. Pongal means a dish of differently made rice. Am I right?
