A history and devotional question for you gues.Let us see who will answer them correctly and primarily.

Most of us know about the pilgrimage Tirumala. It is a place where Lord venkateswara has been there.

My question is How lord venkateswara stayed there. why he didnt stay in tirupati which is down of the hill.
Why tirumala is situated on 7 hills why not 3 hills? what is the reason behind?

I read it some months before in an article. But can't remember it now :(
Is it in Andhra ?Is it same as Tirupati Temple?I thik it has some regional reason.
The seven hills are associated with some mythological personalities. For more details please see the link:
The seven peaks represents the hood of Adisesha. The seven peaks are named as Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrushabadri, Narayanadri and Venkatadri respectively.
Answer from net but nice information.
Ram, tirumala is nothing but tirupathi. the city which is on the hill is known as tirumala and the city at the down of the hill is known as tirupathi
I had been to Triputi once way back, but the queues were too long and I had shortage of time so I only walked in the open places, did not get chance to go inside the temple. But what I feel is most of the lords lived on high hills like Mother Durga, Lord Shiva and so on.
I go to Visit Vaisno Devi every once in a while and wish she would have chosen Katra i place of 14 km higher she decided to live.
But every thing has a reason and these too have and every one who visits place like these know these reasons.
atleast can anyone tell , at how much feet hight the tirumala temple is located?

Tirumala Hill is 853m above sea level and is about 10.33 square miles (27 km2) in area. Am i right?
sandhya, I read some where that tirumala hill is 2800feet from the surface of the earth
Oh my is that 2800 ft and not 853 mt. That is a big difference. Is that from earth or sea level
I said from earth surface the hills hight is 2800 feet hight. may be sandhya said from sea level. I feel both are correct
Oh so that may be the difference. Okay as you say you know better, this is in your state. thanks anyways.
Not only about lord venkateswara. You all people can post any devotional questions as we can improve knowledge about our gods

So tell me weather this 2800ft or 853 mt. I am more confused the difference is very big. Also tell me is this from sea level or earth?
2800 feet from earth level. I dont know about 853mt. Its better sandhya to answer as she has replied 853mt
Yes let Sandhya answer it, why she made such a different answer. I am more confused, particularly about the difference and the level.
Ask some mathematics expert...perhaps Gulshanji
I just searched and find it. That's all
I thought this was related to geography and you want a mathematical expert here. What an answer.
