It is actually Vinod's idea to start such a thread. Just a difference that I am starting this one, on behalf of him. :)
Let us learn some simple and common words of some languages. I think, we can get only Indian words.
As life is a big canvas of different colours, let us start our learnings with different shades of colours.
I am quoting some colours giving meaning in English. Please add your word in your mother tongue. I think, by this way, we can learn at least 7-8 languages. Am I not right?
I am starting with colours. After sometime, another member should start another set of words in his language and we people give its word in our mother tongue. Hoping this thread will continue as a game and not dissappear from our forum very soon.

Yes Sandhya.. I'll have a look at that , but my aim was to like a new word a day.. Like thought of the day. Its just a routine thing. It might not imprint but who knows, we can catch some good things...

It won't work unless a chart is prepared. am not getting enough time to prepare a chart containing different languages.

We have given words of different languages for colours relations etc....
Can you make a table of colours containing words of different languages...same way relations?
Do these two tasks first. then I will give you the third one ;)

I will write colours in bengali.
White - Sada
Blue - Neel
Red - Lal
Black - Kalo
Green - Sobuj
Yellow - Holud
Pink - Golapi
Golden - Sonali
Orange - Kamola
Voilet - Beguni
etc.

This thread has become too long. Many words of different languages have already been given in the thread. I wonder if any one could learn even fraction of a language this way.

There is no use continuing this thread. so this is locked. .
