Living condition of people of a state is entirely different from another one. It is primarily because of the wages paid to workers(most of them are illiterate). Isn't it?
Let us share minimum wages of workers in each state and find living condition of which one is best and which one is worst.
My state is Kerala. Here wages of a male worker starts from 400-450 and can't get a worker below that. (Sorry, I can't say anything about northern districts, perhaps Abid can say). What about your state? :)

I think in Kerala mason works and carpentry works are most paid skilled workers ranging from 550 onwards.

Thank you Abid.
Actually, I don't have any idea about Northern districts. So, you have added my knowledge :)
Also here the Sand mining people are the kings.Within a FN work they are making 2000+
When am I going to make my dream home here, when labour costs are so high, in addition to unions :(
Sandhya,
It should be as early as possible as all the prices are rocketing.I completed it two years ago.
Then the masons were paid only 350 !!!

Now it's 500 here, except their lunch and tea :) Other expenses :silly: :silly:
We are like travellers, so we can't build our dream home now, if we can't stay in it. That's why.
My husband says..it is better to live in rent home and keep that money in bank as investment
To be very frank the most costly laborer is there i J&K because of obvious reasons. Local people do not want to work and outsiders work in risky conditions, therefore they charge too high.

Can you quote approximate figures?
After all, this thread is to find that one, which pays most.
In my opinion Bombay is the most pays most because it is having most living cost when compared with other states.
An ordinary barber, mind it ordinary not a big saloon charges 50-60 Rs for a simple hair cut in 15 minutes, that we can get in other places for 20-30Rs. Not talking of big saloons. A mason charges 500-600 a carpenter 1000/or more.

Carpenter's charge is really.....I think....here also, it reaches almost 1000. I will ask someone and post it later. Painter also gets such huge wages here.
Also, can't get a hair cut below 50 rs anywhere. :)

So clearly understood, no high education is needed to earn high
Now 650-700 is the minimum charge for mansion builders and his assistant will get minimum 400 per day. Rates has increased tremendously in our state.
What about you?
As much as I know rates in North India especially in JK and Punjab have gone too high since the people from Bihar are finding better jobs in their own states.
Here, a carpenter, electricians and painters are paid 1000 or more daily. What about other states?
Ya really a carpenter charges more because i ask him to make a small table then he demand RS 800.i got shocked what happen's.
Yet some jobs didn't get what they actually deserve!!!! May be agriculture!!
Ya but for agriculture there must be sufficient piece of land.
Now a days the agriculture area is vanishing due to high salaries in software side.

No yaar..due to residential colonies flats and high wages for cultivating. Since they are meeting with losses, they make plots from paddy fields
Ya agricultural areas are on finish stage because of growing population.
