Its good to see lock old thread of DFAA. I think DFAA award should be discontinued and it should be automated with new name so anyone could not blame to moderator or person. New name could be forum champion of the day. there should be count of quality post instead of all post.
To count quality post there should be long description.

Thanks maverick for locking the old thread and starting a new thread.
As Suggestion given by Sasi, Sandhya & Alam.
We can have the daily forum activator award for 3 person and cash credit will be as 1st prize - 25 rs, 2nd prize - 10 rs & 3rd prize - 5 rs.
I hope this will help to motivate more members to participate in forum section and also we can improve the quality of the forum.

You cannot decide the quality by looking at number of characters. So manual intervention is mandatory.

Thanks maverick for locking the old thread and starting a new thread. That is not possible. Probably we can leave the decision to moderator to declare more than one person as winner on a particular day if he feel so.

Thank you for your kind reply maverick, lets see how moderator think about the award. :)
I personally believe and have already pointed out that there was and still is nothing wrong with the award itself which has proved so successful so long. And in stead of addressing the real issue, discontinuing it amounts to throwing the baby out with the bathwater!!! Similarly I am also opposed to trifuracation of the total amount to such ridiculous values!!
I agree with Chinmoy that the DFAA should be properly managed and not discontinued. The purpose of award should be to reward members for 'activation' of forum. This is more than just counting the posts.
I suggest following criteria:
(1) The member getting awards should have posted minimum ten qualifying posts in the day.
(2) The award should be for best post based on value or quality. The selected post should have response from maximum members. Thus among two or more quality posts, one that gets further response/ posts from more members should get the award.
To illustrate, member A, B, C post 12, 15 and 18 posts in a day. Others post less then ten. Then, these three namely a, B and C are shortlisted for the award. Further, the member posting the most interesting post should get the award. To continue with illustration, Member A's one post gets further new posts by 20 members subsequent to his post. B and C get response from 12 and 14 members only to one of their post. Hence, member A should get the award.

This is the nice suggestion Gulshan ji. But Admin expressed there is not given award to three winners.
I also say that award should be given to one person. I have only given a criterion for short listing. Only one of the shortlisted members will get an award on basis of one of his post that gets maximum response from other members.
Thanks Gulshanji! Your criteria are very logical!
In this respect I would like to deal with some broad issues which this decision is trying to overlook.Like all professianlly managed sites there should be one or a team of ones who or which examines a post and then clears it to be posted. Here we don't have any such arrangements which may prove very dangerous. Now anyone can get away with posting anything in the absence of any pre-post scrutiny.Just imagine if someone writes anything defamatory or opposed to public policy, what would be the legal implications for the site?
