A Manager must know about everyone and also he must know what is good on a particular person and what is his bad. then only he can utilize the workers.
A good manager is obviously one who can manage well. Management is the science and art of getting things done. A manager should be able to plan and execute the assigned job. He must have foresight and ability to command, influence, coordinate and lead. He needs to be expert in understanding the capability of men placed under him and motivate them to do the job expected from them. He also needs be proficient in delegation of authority and getting feed back as ultimately he is to get job done by those subordinate or associated with him.
I am agree with Gulshan ji. To become good manager we should have leading capability so that time to develop your team performance to improve your performance.
I think a manager should be able to mange his team well and reach out to his team mates....he should be able to solve any difficulties that has been aroused at the team.....and most important should be reachable ..........
Manager should manage everything about the company or where they are working. He should know the problems and think about the development and advice to the head.
My husband is a bank manager. Every morning, his first programme is to open google and search for some quotes. Then he send them early morning itself to his sub-ordinates.... :P
Actually, he also get such 'inspirational quotes' from his boss not only every morning, but also once in every 1-2 hours.
One more thing, whenever his boss gets such inspirational quotes and dose from his boss through sms.....he forwards it to all branch managers...to wake them from sleep

I think it will be a best strategy for managers :cheer:
I think the best managers are the ones who take workers along and consider them co-workers. They listen to all suggestions carefully and encourage the good jobs. They are not selfish but think for the company they work for.
I can relate to your posts as I too have worked for a senior post in a communication company as a country head. The one who considers all workers equel and know how to relate with them is the best of them all.
Sunil, do not create multiple posts one after the other, say what you want in a single post or edit your current post to include what you want to add further. I have noticed this activity from you consistently in all threads, if you persist doing this, will have to take some action.
You know I am on some other US forums where we are supposed to answer every one with out looking for a post in between. That practice made me do it, but this is clear to me now. Thanks for the same.
I think you should begin a few more on this subject. I want to write much more as this is one of my most loved subject. i can write non stop on this topic for hours.
