Manish , It is Religious Extremism, not Relegious extremism,
please correct the heading.
India is a country with so many religions, so there would be conflicts.....However, it all depends on the influence that the general mass would have on your idea.........

Rightly stated that India is a country with many religions. This should make us more tolerant towards other religions. In fact, most people are tolerant and even facilitate or participate in religious functions of other communities. We had good poet like Raskhan who though Muslim wrote nice poems on Krishna, a Hindu deity. The extremists are handful. They cannot be totally eliminated but we should attempt to minimize their influence. It is necessary not to force belief of one religion on others. everyone should be free to abide by any religion or no religion.
I do not think so.India is the only country where we can see the unity of diversity.Yes some incidents happened but those are unfortunate.
India has given freedom to its people to accept any religion and different religious leader take benefit of it by invoking their followers to accept their rules by forcing others.
India is a free country where people are free to except any relegious. All religious are treated in a same manner in India.it is a only country that has strong unity in presence of many religious.

I would like to state another example.....Sai Baba...he was a Muslim but most of his followers are Hindu and in fact he is most popular among the Hindus......that clearly state our acceptance for any religion...only the motive should be good.....

People are now educated and religious extremism are rarely found......
Nice example given.first time i came to know that Sai Baba is a Muslim.

religious extremism is not rare.recent example is Salaman Rushdie And Taslima Nasrin
But it have very much reduced now a days comparing to 40-50 years before.
Only a small group is causing a lot of problems.
According to a Malayalam proverb, "Even a poison less snake is necessary for a person to throw away his food and keep himself hungry"
Good to know about Sai Baba that he was muslim. Are you speaking about Recent or old Sai?

The Shirdi Sai Baba was a Muslim and most Sai devotes have faith in him. There was another Sai Baba in Andhra Pradesh, who died recently. He is also said to be incarnation of the 'original Sai Baba'.
Thanks Gulshanji for your kind information. There are many devotees of Recent Sai Baba in Bengal also.Sachin Tendulkar is also a great devotee of him.
people like sai baba are beyond religion......
Here the issue is about religious extremism i.e. hatred and violence for on religious issues. Happily, there were no riots or any unpleasant incidents in the last few years. The Gujarat riots appear the latest. We should strengthen secular ideas. This implies that we should consider religion purely a personal matter and deal with all in normal course of life without considering religion.
Yes the need of the day is to crush them to the root. If they shall be dealt on political views or seen with vote bank angles, there is no one who can stop this country to go to the dogs.
