In a Bizarre incident, a boy was sacrificed for hidden treasure.
Does this not indicate that religion is associated more with materialist greed, superstition, folly and cruelty.

All religions teach us to be good people and give us moral stories, from which we develop ourselves to be good and do good only. But, it is people's bad mentality that creates problems and do activities, that not even God will be able to tolerate.
1 year back, I read about an incident that happened in Mumbai. A couple had 2 children, a boy and a girl, 5 and 3 years each. Their superstitious tuition teacher told parents that children had some evil shadows and she will help them. Believing her, a night, parents tied both children with a rope inside the home and the teacher canned both kids with a stick, asking the evil to go away from kids' body.
After some time, both the kids died and the teacher escaped.
Now also, I feel very upset when those two kids come to my mind. They beat the kids after they are tied. That hurts me more. :(

Well,it's true that true religion brings out the best in us but pseudo one can shame even our animals. A hungry animal goes on the prowl to meet its legitimate needs but we,bipeds,go on the prowl to deprive others of their legitimate needs after satisfying our not so legitimate ones!
