Will he, won't he? The guessing game was over Friday with Salman Rushdie, author of "The Satanic Verses", saying he had called off his visit to the Jaipur Literary Festival after intelligence sources told him that paid assassins from the Mumbai underworld were out to kill him.

'Satanic verses' by Salman Rushdie is a controversial book. His visit could cause law and order problem and create tension. Hence his decision not to visit the occasion in India is welcome
it was a good idea on part of Rushdie for not coming to India......much was already hyped prior to his arrival.........
I am sure he took a wise decision which would have started another stir in already disturbed stratospheric conditions due to on going elections in some states of the country.
Gulshan Ji what he written in that book to became controversy.
