It is okay to give voting rights to citizens. But why NRI be preferred only because of financial contribution. If so, why not give voting rights even to foreign nationals and corporates because they also give some financial contribution.
Voting rights must depend on residential status and birth and not on money power. A beggar born in India must have more political rights than an NRI who is more interested in serving abroad.

Many people are choosing NRI status to get avoided from Tax payment. It is more ridiculous to note that they are a group of people who holds maximum cash. Even a worker living in this country is paying tax. Even to buy a candy costing 1rupee, we have to pay tax. By paying the tax, actually we are serving our country. In my opinion, those people who don't serve our country has no power to select a member of parliament. So voting power should never be given to people who spends more than half of their life time outside India.
