Virgin Mary- How virgin

Virgin Mary was Jesus Christ's mother. How could she be 'virgin' despite giving birth to a child, namely Jesus Can anyone explain this?

Catholics believe that Mary conceived and gave birth to Jesus through Divine intervention and she was before and after marriage always a virgin. Hence, the name "Virgin Mary" also known as "The blessed Virgin Mary". This is the very foundation of the catholic religion for they considered Jesus to be son of god, immortal.

This is a very nice suggestion. But if we all follow this, everyone will search for everything on Google and there will be no posts on Boddunan.

My object was not just why Mary is called 'virgin' but also to stimulate discussion on this belief. So, I hope members would express their views as to whether a woman giving birth to a child can be rightly considered 'virgin'.

Sasikanth, I would say that if you google things and post information here then it would be more useful, I have many posts that back my point, take your posts for example where you gave us effective remedies for heart attack or Sarala's post where she has given effective remedies for cold. And if it is about asking questions than Santosh has recently posted question about some local software and mobility, wherein I am waiting for the answer, Deven's post of homonyms and related to improving English. So I would say that instead of posting questions for which you can easily find answers, better post the answer, instead of posting question which is illogical. Posting any forum for the sake of it doesn't sound really logical.
