Ravan he is a great learner. He has a lots of knowledge but his demand make him a bad person for all of them.

There are two possibilities. One is that Ramayana is only an epic and all characters including Rama, Ravana are fictitious. If so, there is no issue. The second possibility is that this is real. Then, Rama was victor and Ravana defeated. It is an experience that one who wins is praised by all in spite of any wrong done by him. All oppose one who is defeated. It is rightly said that history is written by sword. In olden days, there were no printing press and computers. The history was written by courtiers. It goes without saying that such history would favor the victor and disfavor the vanquished.
You are right Gulshan ji I also want to add one thing if we see Ramayan many times then we feel that we are seeing first time That is power of story.
Recently they srilanka archaeological department has found ravan mummy( dead body of ravan) and they even showed in television.

I have heard that their are temples of Ravan in South especially in TN and also in Lanka. I am not too sure as I had not been to one as yet. But yes I know him as a great devotee of Lord Shiva and a great Pundit.

i agree with you Gulshan sir..........suppose ramayan is real, then also the ridiculous part is the people who burn Mr Ravan every year are most probably not better than him..........simply the idea you have about Ravana, you will exaggerate and tell that to your younger generation.....thats how we demonize and make some people god slowly.......considering ramayana,Rama was a human but we worship him as god.
I am not sure, people burn Holika also every year which also is symbolic. That is also part of an ancient story. As a matter of fact we should take the good part of every thing and leave the bad part. Now tell me what do we do on holi day? Whatever we do, most of it is not sober, therefore worth leaving out.

Holi is festival of fun and joy. There is no element of sobriety. So, more sober persons would participate only for sake of ritual. There is nothing wrong doing once a year silly things without offending the non willing.

Also, festivals is a form of get together where the whole atmosphere is filled with joy and everyone feel relieved from daily tensions, at least for some time :)
I think todays days being change party is being for get together and festivals are avoided by new youth.
Actually people are taking every thing in a funny way. I think they have forgotten the importance of our culture and have put fun part of it in fore.
Don't know if he exist as God some where but he is known for his knowledge i think in Srilanka he is worshiped as God in some places. :)
I am not so sure but as I understand that he has his temples in a few places in our country also where people pay their respect to him.
