in this thread a new homophone will be posted every day which will help improve our command over the language.

Continuing with P.Pole and Poll. Pole means a long cylindrical piece of wood.Poll means collection of opinion on a subject.
So proceeding to Q :
quite : you use quite to emphasize what you are saying.
quiet : silence
dear - deer

dear - its a word used to call close people

deer - animal

Starting with R. Read and Red. Read is the past tense for read. Red is the colour. Little confusing with read I believe.
