Is Bhagwat Geeta an instigator of violence, disputes and social unrest in society. Hindus may read some deeper meaning in the holy book.
But others may consider this just as a story of fight over land between cousins, namely Pandava and kaurava. Oterwise peaceful citizens may be instigated by this book to settle their differences on land and other private maters through violence. This is what a section in Siberia (Russian territory) feels. So, a ban on this book is being considered.

What are plain facts abou Ghagwat Geetha.
This is part of Mahabharata, which is in simple terms a great war between Kaurava and Pandava- cousins- for the sake of land/ kingdom. Krishna instigates Arjun, a Panda brother to fight and not withdraw. This advice by Krishna is Geetha. Hence, some people feel that Geetha encourages fighting. This apprehension is not so unreasonable.
Here I wish to stress that even Hindus never keep a copy of Mahabharata that includes Geetha because the very possession of this book may cause quarrel and tension. If others also feel so, what is wrong.

In most our houses there is a copy of Mahabharatam, written by Ezhuthachan.

In Uttar Pradesh, nobody will have Mahabharata in his house. When there is quarrel in some family, we say that there is Mahabharata in that house. Mahabharata recitation is arranged in public places and not in residences. It is believed that if you have a copy of Mahabharata in your house, there will be no peace.

No doubt this is superstitious belief. Any way this is a belief.
Such superstitious beliefs arise from lack of understanding and knowing what it really says. The Mahabharata is believed to be epic tale of war between two factions of the same family ir, Kauravas and Pandavas. But it is much much more than that. It tells us what life is all about, how to live life, duties of one's towards others etc. etc. and many more. It is very difficult to grasp it even in several readings and it is considered to have answers to all problems that one may ever face.
I have heard of this superstition and reason that is given behind it is because it has vivid descriptions of war between brothers, keeping a copy will lead to a rift within the family. Utter nonsense! instead each family should hold recitals regularly and understand its teachings.
