Yes this is an important day to all wives but Bangali women does not celebrate this .They celebrate Shibaratri.
Does Shibaratri- mean 'Night of shiva'. If so, why only Bengali women and not men celebrate this. Also is this another name for Karwa Chauth or this is entirely different. Please give some more details.
Punjabis, UP people,Rajasthanis, Sindhis people do this fast. Wife do the fast for long age for their husband. Really its a great day for husband.
But,some male people also do the fast for the wife. How lucky that girl would be!!!

Nice to know that in some cases males also fast with their wives. It really looks very nice when both of them fast for each other's well being and it adds a lot of bond in their relationship...!
