In India, we do not vote for Prime minister. We vote only for (1) member of Lok Sabha (2) Member of Vidhan Sabha (3) member of local body. The winning party elects leader who is appointed as PM. There is no likelihood of the two above mentioned leaders contesting against each other in any constituency.

So, you have to make a choice between (1) congress and allies (2) BJP and allies (3) Other groups like left and regional parties.

The Prime minister and ruling coalition will emerge after elections to Lok Sabha. The members of winning alliance and not the voters will decide the selection of Prime Minister.
I does not vote even a narendra modi nor a rahul gandghi it must be a nitish kumar from bihar.
It depends upon the people choice. Both are having vast experience in political field.
As pointed out by Gulshanji, I agree that we do not vote for PM in India. However, I meant to say - "Whom do you expect to become PM of India in 2014 election?"
I would prefer Rahul Gandhi as PM of India in 2014 elections
I would also prefer Rahul Gandhi as prime minister in2014.
I will prefer Narendra Modi and lot of Indian public like Modi work and progress in Gujarat. Gujarat is number one state.

We have to make a choice of political parties and not individuals. Most people will not get a chance to elect either Modi or Rahul as the voters of these two persons will be located only in Amethi and the constituency of Modi. These voters will also elect or reject them as MP and not prime minister. This is done by MPs. of ruling alliance.
It is revealed that Modi fast is an exercise for soliciting support for premiership. This is certainly bizarre and this may prompt other aspirants also to resort to such ridiculous tactics.

There are few takers for Modi's candidature to PM job. The Nitish Kumar JDU will not accept Modi.

It appears that our politicians are not adhering to proper norms of parliamentary democracy based on political parties rather than individuals. BJP is largest party in NDA. so, if NDA is voted to power, BJP has claim to Prime minister job. BJP will accordingly decide the person for Prime minister's job and this should be acceptable to junior partners.
